My Own Journey to Inspiration:
I spent the first 26 years of my life feeling fairly insecure and lost in life. I knew from an early age that there was more to life... I just didn't know what was missing. I went to university to study psychology and philosophy in an attempt to get answers, but as I was to find out, "words don't teach, experience does"! And I left university with a degree but many unanswered questions.
After a traumatic first half of my twenties, when the tension and inner conflict inside me grew dramatically, my life took an unexpected turn when I became pregnant. As this wasn't a planned pregnancy, I suddenly found myself re-evaluating life. The real turning point, the moment when everything in my life changed was discovering that my baby boy had a serious heart defect that required open-heart surgery. Finding myself in a hospital for six hours waiting to see if a surgeon could save my child's life was an intense and life-changing experience. With no way to control the outcome, I had only one option.. to pray!
I wasn't religious, I would have described myself as agnostic, so to this day I have no idea who I was praying to, but in that moment, it was all I had. The deal I made with "god" was that if he saved my son's life, I would make my life a life that counted.
Those hours were a time of awakening for me. When you realise how precious and transient life is, you wake up to the realisation that life matters. The very next day I made an appointment to see a counsellor and so began my journey towards inspiration.

I now think that my son was a gift to me to answer the questions of life. Every day my children, my clients, my friends and family continue to love, to teach, and, at times, irritate me into expansion! Twelve years on from my son's operation, I have dedicated my life to discovering and living the true purpose of life.. joy, inspiration and total fulfillment of who we really are at the core of our being. |
I am blessed now to have two beautiful sons and to do the work that I love to do, with amazing and diverse people. I now invite you to discover and live your own inspired life!
